A design studio in Cape Town

Your design should be based on you, not everyone else.

We don’t use AI in our designs. AI works by predicting what’s most likely, based on what everyone else is doing. We start with you instead.

AI is a tool. We use it properly.

How AI makes things

Generative models build their output one predicted token at a time, choosing what’s statistically most likely given everything they’ve seen.

Why that’s a problem for design

The most likely answer is, by definition, the average one. A brand built on the average looks like everyone else’s.

How we use it

As a tool, not a designer. It can help with the admin around the work. The ideas, marks and layouts come from people who’ve actually met you.

What we make, by hand and by head.

Brand identity

Names, marks, type and colour that come from your story, not a trend report.

Websites

Sites designed around how your customers actually think and move.

Print & packaging

Things people hold: labels, boxes, menus, books and signage.

Art direction

Shoots, campaigns and launches that keep your look consistent.

It starts with a conversation, not a prompt.

  1. Listen

We meet you, ask a lot of questions and learn what makes you different.

  2. Sketch

Ideas start on paper, drawn from what we heard, not what’s trending.

  3. Shape

We refine the strongest direction with you, round by round.

  4. Launch

Final files, guidelines and support so it stays yours after we hand over.

No two look alike. That’s the point.

Prediction gives you what’s common. We’d rather give you what’s yours.
